Even though the event does not have an announced location or venue, one thing is for sure and that’s Zak Cummings and Sam Alvey will be a part of the UFC card on April 10. According to sources at MMAJunkie.com the bout is set. Even though the bout has not been officially recognized by the promotion, the sources can confirm it is happening. So, a fun middleweight bout is on deck.
Since Alvey has been dabbling with the light-heavyweight division for a while, he will finally return to his normal weight class. Consequently, this will be “Smilin” Alvey’s first middleweight appearance since 2018.
Zak Cummings and Sam Alvey – Middleweight Scrap
Prior to this announcement, Alvey was coming off a lackluster draw to Da Un Jung at UFC 254: Khabib vs. Gaethje. The American definitely ran into some hurdles as he made his way through the light-heavyweight landscape. However, after a couple of failed attempts, one being against Ryan Spann, it seemed wise for Alvey to come back down in weight. Especially since Alvey is not a very physical athlete in nature, and uses conditioning and toughness to wear opponents down. If that doesn’t work, Alvey also has nasty power in both his hands with at least twenty knockout victories under his belt.
On the other hand, Cummings definitely enters the fight with momentum. With a solid win over Alessio Di Chirico who interestingly, just knocked out the red-hot Joaquin Buckley. Cummings has a solid skillset and is undoubtedly a problem for any light heavy-weight.
The UFC Fight Night card lineup for April 10 is the following including Sam Alvey and Zak Cummings
- Nina Ansaroff vs. Mackenzie Dern
- Jarjis Danho vs. Yorgan De Castro
- Norma Dumont vs. Bea Malecki
- Ignacio Bahamondes vs. John Makdessi
- Sam Alvey vs. Zak Cummings
