As the UFC heads back to Las Vegas, Vincente Luque and Randy Brown go head to head in a bout that promises fireworks. The rescheduled clash between ‘The Silent Assassin’ and ‘Rude Boy’ is highly anticipated.

In 2015, Luque was announced as a participant in The Ultimate Fighter: American Top Team vs Blackzillians. He won the first fight but was taken out of the contest in the semi-finals after a split decision loss to Hayder Hassan.

The Silent Assassin made his UFC debut in 2015 losing to Michael Graves via unanimous decision. Luque then skipped onto a rampant 4 fight winning streak including a revenge win against Hassan. The winning streak came to an end when he lost to top 5 Welterweight Leon Edwards.

Luque comes into this fight with never-ending confidence after beating Niko Price at UFC 249 in their war of a rematch. The fight was a back and forth contest which could’ve gone either way on the scorecards.

However, in the 3rd and final round, Luque threw a left hook that connected on the right eye of Price which dropped the American to the ground. After a flurry of ground and pound, the referee intervened due to Prices swollen eye, called the doctor in, and the bout was called in favor of the Brazilian.

With a background of Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and Brazilian Ji-Jitsu, Luque has the ability to control the fight and take the fight where he needs to.

Meanwhile, on a two-fight winning streak, Randy ‘Rude Boy’ Brown comes into this rescheduled bout feeling indestructible.

Brown won the Ring of Combat Welterweight belt against Mike Winters via 2nd round TKO. The title-winning fight was followed by a KO win over Robert Plotkin. The impressive knockout caught the eye of UFC president when featured on ‘Dana Whites Looking for A Fight’. Brown was then signed into the UFC roster shortly after.

His last fight was against Brazilian fighter Warlley Alves at UFC Fight Night 164. Despite the fight taking place in Alves backyard of Sao Paulo, Brown managed to win the fight via a 2nd round triangle choke.

However, the fight wasn’t quite as easy as it sounded. In the first 15 seconds of the fight, ‘Rude Boy’ was taken down and found himself in the worst possible position. Despite losing the first round, his comeback caught the eye of many top Welterweights in the division.

In this fight I expect both fighters to go with complete opposite styles. Luque will look to keep the fight standing, using sheer aggression to rush towards Brown and turn this fight into an all-out brawl.

Whereas, Brown will look for a technical but slower styled fight.
However, due to the non-stop pace from Luque, I expect Brown to feel overwhelmed and ultimately go for a takedown which is easier said than done against a fighter like Vincente Luque.

Fight Prediction: Vincente Luque 3rd round KO.
