Ketlen Vieira vs. Miesha Tate Fight Preview for UFC Vegas 43
Miesha Tate, the 35-year-old former UFC bantamweight champion successfully made her return to MMA with a victory against Marion Reneau. This was her first fight in over 5 years. She beat Reneau via TKO in the 3rd round back in July.
She retired in 2016 after a loss to Raquel Pennington. She has stated she was burnt out from the sport of MMA and was suffering from depression. During her retirement, she would go on to pursue a career outside of the cage, and she stepped into an executive role working for ONE FC as their brand ambassador and commentator.
Tate has had notable victories over Holly Holm, Jessica Eye, Liz Carmouche, Sara McMann plus more.
On the other hand, Ketlen Vieira is coming off a loss against Yana Kunitskaya back in February via unanimous decision. Unlike Tate, Vieira has been active every year in professional MMA since 2014.
“Fenomeno” has an impressive record of 11 victories with only two losses. Dangerous on both the feet and the ground (4 submission/3 TKO’s pro-MMA) Vieira will be looking to spoil Meisha Tate’s plans towards a title shot in 2022. Vieira also holds the 5-year youth advantage.
