Live from the APEX Center in Las Vegas comes UFC Fight Night: Blaydes-Lewis. The co-main event features a women’s bantamweight matchup as the Brazilian Ketlen Vieira (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) goes head-to-head against Russian sensation Yana Kunitskaya (13-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC). After two failed attempts to book this fight back in August, they will hook up this Saturday night. For these two to co-headline this event that will usher in the heavyweight main event between Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis should give them a big boost in their credentials.

Vieira has won five out of six bouts since entering the UFC back in October 2016. She rode a four-fight win streak before falling to Irene Aldana at UFC 245 in December 2019 via left hook knockout. She climbed back on the winning end by beating Sijara Eubanks by unanimous decision last September. As for Kunitskaya, she has won three of four after a March 2018 debut loss to Cris Cyborg via ground and pound. In her three wins, she has won by unanimous decision. In her two losses, she has been finished by ground and pound TKO.
In seven short years, Vieira has had twelve fights with black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, along with adding boxing to her skillset, and is ranked 6th in the UFC among bantamweights. She fights for the Nova União Manaus team. As for Kunitskaya, she is ranked 7th in the division, with Muay Thai, Taekwondo, and Gaidojutsu. She represents the Jackson-Wink MMA Academy.
UFC Fight Night can be seen this Saturday night on ESPN+ at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.
