This Saturday on October 17, the next UFC Fight Night event takes place at the Flash Forum concert hall on Yas Island from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The main event features featherweights “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung (16-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC) taking on Brian Ortega (14-1, 1 NC MMA, 6-1, 1 NC).

Sung Jung is riding a two-fight winning streak with victories over Renato Miocano and Frankie Edgar, dating back to last year, replacing Ortega to fight his stead. Ortega suffered a partially torn ACL in his knee. Sung Jung faced Edgar and answered with a first round TKO win. It seems now that Ortega is 100 percent from his injury and Sung Jung is finally awaiting to face him, he’s been game to fight at Yas Island since the spring, over a month into the COVID-19 shutdown.
@KoreanZombieMMA is up for it. 💯 https://t.co/X1oLFu2bbP

Ortega is looking to avenge his first pro MMA and UFC loss overall to featherweight champion Max Holloway after a fourth-round stoppage at UFC 231 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto back on December 8, 2018. Ortega has a one-inch height advantage at 5’7″ while Sung Jung’s reach advantage is at 72” to Ortega’s 69″.
These are critical matchups for these two fighters, whether they are veterans or first-time fighters under the Endeavor umbrella. UFC President Dana White announced that the winner of this fight will be crowned the #1 contender for the UFC Featherweight Championship as they will face off against defending champion Alexander Volkanovski. Abu Dhabi should be rockin’ and rollin’, even without a crowd, but with plenty of spectators that truly can determine their destiny, win or lose. Better yet, these men can do so even better as they step into the Octagon for their respective matchups that can make or break their chances for further advancement in the UFC.
UFC Fight Night will be streaming on ESPN+ at 6 PM ET.
