UFC 267 details have emerged and the rematch between Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling is on.
MMA reporter Ariel Helwani first released the information. According to Helwani, UFC 267, slated for October 30, will at least feature two title fights. The 205lbs strap will be defended by Jan Blachwoicz against Brazil’s Glover Teixeira. Then what comes as a bit of a surprise is that bantamweight champion Sterling will attempt to solidify his title against a heated rival in former champ Petr Yan.
The two title fights are taking place on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi according to the social media post. The UFC 267 card is really shaping up as it was also reported that rising star Khamzat Chimaev will make his anticipated return against China’s Li Jingliang.
In a shocking state of affairs, Helwani also reported that the UFC 267 event is currently not scheduled to be a pay-per-view event. This marks the second-ever UFC numbered event that would not serve as a PPV card.
UFC 267 is slated for Oct. 30 in Abu Dhabi. Jan x Glover for the 205 belt and Aljo x Yan for the 135 title are the title fights. This is out there.
Interestingly enough, though, the event is currently scheduled to be a non-PPV numbered event in USA, I’m told. Some combo of E/E+.

“UFC 267 is slated for Oct. 30 in Abu Dhabi. Jan x Glover for the 205 belt and Aljo x Yan for the 135 title are the title fights. This is out there. Interestingly enough, though, the event is currently scheduled to be a non-PPV numbered event in USA, I’m told. Some combo of E/E+.” Ariel Helwani posted on Twitter.
Helwani adds that as of now, the event is currently scheduled to take place in the United States. However, as further details come to light, AllAccess MMA will keep you informed on the latest news.
Prior to this announcement, the only other numbered UFC event to not air on PPV was UFC 138 in Birmingham, England. The event aired on Spike TV.
With the addition of 205lbs gold at stake, so will the bantamweight belt. Sterling will return after going through rigorous neck surgery. Of course, this comes on the heels of his title win against Yan back in March that resulted in then-champion Yan throwing an illegal knee and losing the fight via intentional illegal strikes.
All in all, this is great news to hear and especially for any fighter competing in the bantamweight division. With such a heated rematch one can only guess that the second fight will be just as exciting as the first. It looks like the UFC’s next venture into Fight Island is beginning to take form.
Who do you think takes the rematch at UFC 267, Petr Yan or Aljamain Sterling?
