Coming live from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas comes UFC 262, live this Saturday night. With a stacked up five-fight card, the main event is looking good as Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira (30-8-0, 1 NC MMA, 18-8 UFC) goes head-to-head against Michael Chandler (22-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC) for the UFC Lightweight Championship. Oliveira has been riding an eight-fight winning streak and has grizzled his way to the main event picture where he faces the former Bellator lightweight champion, who has earned a title shot in only his second fight with the promotion. Chandler defeated Dan Hooker at UFC 257 back in January to secure the shot in his debut.
In the co-main event, Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson (25-5 MMA, 15-4 UFC) goes up against Beneil Dariush (20-4-1 MMA, 14-4-1 UFC. After a 12-fight winning streak, Ferguson went 0-2 in 2020. He’ll look to rebound from that winless streak with a win over Dariush, who is riding a six-fight win streak.
In men’s flyweight action, Matt Schnell (15-5 MMA, 5-3 UFC) goes to war against Rogério Bontorin (16-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC). Bontorin looks to go above .500 inside the Octagon while Schnell is seeking his sixth win there as well as he defeated Tyson Nam at UFC Fight Night back in January this year.
Katlyn Chookagian (15-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) goes toe-to-toe against Viviane Araujo (10-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) in women’s flyweight action where both ladies look to extend their own winning streaks. Chookagian bested Cynthia Calvillo at UFC 255 while Araujo holds Fight Night wins over Montana De La Rosa and Roxanne Modafferi.
In men’s featherweight division action, Shane “Hurricane” Burgos (13-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) battles Edison Barbosa (21-9 MMA, 14-8 UFC). Burgos looks to put his defeat to Josh Emmett in the rearview back on UFC Fight Night back in June of last year. Meanwhile, Barbosa has lost three of his last five but defeated Makwan Amirkhani back in UFC fight night in October.
UFC 262 takes place on Pay-Per-View at 10:00 PM ET.
