A couple of huge announcements came from UFC president Dana White on Monday Night. One is that UFC 261 is headed to Jacksonville Fl. on April 24, with some heavy hitters.
Not only that but he included that the card will feature three championship fights in front of potentially 15,000 fans. The fights will take place inside the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville Fl. White also mentioned that tickets would be on sale soon, and to be on the lookout.

At the top of the card, the welterweight championship is a bad-blood rematch between Kamru Usman and Jorge Masvidal. Then the UFC 261 card will include flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko defending her belt against Jessica Andrade. If that’s not enough, the defending strawweight champion Zhang Weili will toe the line against Rose Namajunas. With a plethora of other good pairings, the night will truly be unforgettable with a roaring crowd in the background.
UFC 261 Heads Over To Florida With Possibility Of Full Capacity
Aside from Abu Dhabi, and the UFC Apex, Florida has been the only other home to the UFC since the pandemic wreaked havoc on the world. However, finally, at UFC 261 on April 24, a spectacular event will feature a live audience. This news definitely comes as a surprise since the UFC was recently raffling off just two seats to sit cage side during a Las Vegas show.
Undoubtedly, White has shown he intends to go big for 2021. Not only that but starting off the year on such a big note and being the first will send a huge statement to the rest of the sports world.
