The Youtube star and social media sensation Jake Paul will face former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in the boxing ring.
Following Paul’s knockout of Ben Askren back in April, several UFC fighters have been calling for Paul’s name. Woodley was among those names, and now it looks like the two will definitely meet with boxing gloves on. The news was first reported by The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger. In addition, the date is set for August 28 and the bout will reportedly be at 190lbs.
Prior to the announcement, both fighters began to advertise the fight on their social media stories, so many believed pen already met with paper.

A Look At Tyron Woodley And Jake Paul
Meanwhile, this will be Woodley’s first fight since being released by the UFC. Also, it’s important to note that Woodley is on a four-fight losing skid. With the potential of having one of the biggest paydays of his career, there is little doubt the former champion won’t come in prepared. Not to mention, Woodley will also be fighting with a heavy heart as this is an opportunity for the welterweight to avenge Askren’s loss to Paul in April.
On the other hand, Paul has quickly made a name for himself in the boxing business. Specifically, the Youtube star managed to win his first three boxing fights, and his last win was perhaps his best yet. Overall, Paul’s boxing ring generalship alongside his power are both very useful weapons for the rising 24-year old star.
While the news was a little out of the ordinary, in the year 2021, it’s rare to surprise a fight fan.
