Tyron Woodley isn’t paying any attention to everyone saying his UFC 260 fight against Vicente Luque is do-or-die for his career.

Woodley enters the co-main event spot on a three-fight losing streak where he lost to Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns, and Kamaru Usman to lose his belt. Although he lost to the three best fighters at welterweight, he was dominated in all three fights.

Now, against Luque, the talk has been if Woodley loses his fourth in a row he will be released from the UFC. However, he doesn’t care about any of that as he knows the UFC can release him whenever they choose. Instead, he is focusing on putting on the best performance possible on Saturday night.

“Could have gotten let go before this,” Woodley said at media day. “Could have let go after Gilbert [Burns]. Could have gotten let go after [Kamaru] Usman. Could have let go after [Darren] Till. It’s not up to me. It’s up to the organization, and I’m grateful that I got another chance to show myself, and in doing so, you guys will watch what I am, how great I am.”

Against Luque, Tyron Woodley won’t have to deal with heavy wrestling as he did in his last three fights. However, the Brazilian does have a high-pace with a ton of volume which could frustrate the former champ. Yet, for Woodley, he says he is only focused on himself and is confident he can string some wins together again.

“I see myself controlling the variables that I can control,” he said. “I don’t know even know I can say it in a different way. I’m trying to draw more fans here, $50 words for you here. But that’s all it really boils down to. Every fight is the biggest fight, and then after that, it’s the next biggest fight in performance. If I can do that, I think I’ll be fine.”
