The unbeaten Tatiana Suarez will finally return to the Octagon and is targeting a return at UFC 266 on September 25.
News of the potential return was first announced by MMA reporter Ariel Helwani. As it stands, UFC 266 is headlined by the featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski defending against former title challenger Brian Ortega.
UFC is targeting Tatiana Suarez vs. Roxanne Modafferi at 125 pounds for UFC 266 on Sept. 25, sources say. Not done yet but that’s the one they have zeroed in on. Would be Suarez’s first fight since June 2019.

Tatiana Suarez To Make Potential Return At 125lbs
While many thought Suarez to be the next champion in the UFC, the former strawweight struggled outside the Octagon with neck injuries. Additionally, with a long frame, it was clear Suarez took on a big weight cut any time she had a strawweight fight on deck. However, it looks like Suarez is forgoing a lot of the weight cutting, and focusing solely on the skills that will ultimately lead her to a title shot.
Suarez, 30, has not fought since 2019. In particular, the former strawweight took on Nina Nunes where she dominated the fight en route to a unanimous decision win. Even though she has been struggling with the neck injury for some time, she has finally been cleared to compete again.
Roxanne Modafferi, 38, is a staple of women’s mixed martial arts and a seasoned veteran. Additionally, Modafferi is known for taking out undefeated prospects and recently dispatched Macy Barber to prove that notion. Although, the American also defeated Antonina Shevchenko when she was unbeaten as well as Andrea Lee.
Either way, the fight between the prospect killer and Tatiana Suarez would be really exciting if it actually comes together. As it’s been so long since we have seen Suarez fight, hopefully on Sept. 25 we see her back in the Octagon.
