Stipe Miocic wants the trilogy fight with Francis Ngannou early next year.

At UFC 260, Miocic and Ngannou had their rematch where Ngannou scored a second-round KO. In the first fight at UFC 220, Miocic dominated the scrap using his wrestling to win a decision. However, in the rematch, Ngannou showed off an improved takedown defense and was much more patient to get the win.

Although Miocic suffered a KO loss, he said he was looking to get back in there and now says he wants the trilogy.

“I want a rematch, and I wanna get my title back. He took something that was mine, and it drives me nuts every day,” Miocic said to Submission Radio. “I’m always fired up after a loss. I hate losing. I’ve lost a few times, and just, I hate losing, it just drives me nuts. I hate losing. I’m very competitive and I like winning.

“Honestly, I don’t care who it is. I really would love to fight Francis again for the rematch and get that ‘W’ back over him in the rubber match,” Miocic continued. “But yeah, I don’t care who it is. I’m not preferring anyone, but if I had a choice, I would want to fight Ngannou again. Just because he beat me last time and took the belt. We’ll see when I get a rematch. Maybe early next year.”

In order for Miocic to get the Ngannou trilogy, the champ will need to beat Derrick Lewis this summer in his first title defense.

Stipe Miocic is 38-years-old and is now 20-4 as a pro. He is getting up there in age and likely only has a few fights left but no doubt deserves an immediate rematch with Ngannou due to what he accomplished at heavyweight. He’s considered the heavyweight GOAT by Dana White.
