UFC 259 adds another exciting bout with Sean Brady and Jake Matthews most recently added to the stacked card. The bout was first reported by Mike Heck, at MMAFighting.com. While the event is scheduled for March 6th, the promotion is still seeking a venue. Headlined by Aleksandar Rakić and Thiago Santos, the bout is a pivotal one for the light-heavyweight division. Also featured on the card is the return of former bantamweight champion, Dominick Cruz taking on Casey Kenney. The UFC 259 card will take place on ESPN+ and pay per view this Saturday at 6:00 PM ET.
Sean Brady and Jake Matthews – Closer Look
The 28-year old Brady (13-0) has shown great potential in the UFC. Complimented by a perfect record, Brady has had an impressive UFC run. Consequently, the American out of the Renzo Gracie Philly team is on a sixteen-fight win streak, with three straight wins in the UFC. In addition, Brady has shown a versatile game, with victories coming by way of submission and knockout. Recently, the unbeaten fighter took on the experienced Christian Aguilera and managed to catch him in a nasty guillotine choke in round 2.
Conversely, the Australian Matthews (17-4) is young but experienced. Learning a lot in the biggest promotion, Matthews is on a three-fight win streak with notable wins over Rostem Akman, Emil Meek, and the popular Diego Sanchez.
