Suriname’s Jairzinho Rozenstruik will make his return to the Octagon when he faces the gritty Polack, Marcin Tybura at the Feb. 26 UFC show.

Rozenstruik aims to erase his last defeat to Curtis Blaydes after losing an uneventful unanimous decision back in September. With a little over a month of time to prepare, the heavyweight tilt is a promising one as both competitors have viable routes to victory. The reported heavyweight match-up was first revealed by MMA reporter Marcel Dorff.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik takes on Marcin Tybura at #UFCVegas49 in Las Vegas on February 26th.” Marcel Dorff shared on Sunday.

A Brief Look At Jairzinho Rozenstruik & Marcin Tybura

Prior to dropping a decision loss to Alexander Volkov, Marcin Tybura was riding a very impressive 5-fight winning streak. En route to acquiring the streak, Tybura managed to dispatch some very worthy contenders. In 2020, the 36-year-old won four contests. First, Tybura won a decision against Sergey Spivak in Feb. Following his first win of the 2020 calendar year, the Polish native returned five months later and earned a decision victory against Maxim Grishin.

While Tybura has struggled at times with his finishing instincts, his top pressure in mount is by far one of his most effective weapons in the Octagon. After yet another decision win against perennial contender Ben Rothwell, Tybura’s in cage-momentum was at an all-time high.

The heavyweight was paired with former NFL player Greg Hardy next. The veteran savvy of Tybura alongside his ability to sustain top pressure in mount makes him a nightmare when the fight goes to the canvas. After earning a ground and pound victory against Hardy, and then Walt Harris, Tybura has made notable leaps in his fight IQ and cage awareness/generalship during his UFC tenure.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik has alternated wins and losses for two years. Upon entrance into the UFC, the Suriname native had a style of striking that few heavyweights had seen before. A renowned kickboxer, Rozenstruik has a unique ability to land shots while backpedaling.

Despite having a broad repertoire of strikes, he endured his first MMA defeat in the UFC after being knocked unconscious by Francis Ngannou. Following the devastating knockout, “Bigi Boy” has struggled to recenter his MMA career.

At just 33-years-old, Rozenstruik has the time and the skills needed to make a huge impact in the UFC’s heaviest weight division. Rozenstruik went on to lose two more fights when he faced Ciryl Gane and Curtis Blaydes in 2021. The results of Rozenstruik’s next fight could affect his overall career trajectory moving forward. With a pivotal heavyweight clash scheduled for Feb. 26, fans are eager to see if Jairzinho Rozenstruik can make the requisite adjustments to get his career back on track.
