Curtis Millender will have a huge opportunity in front of him at the PFL 2021 Week 2 event to beat a former Bellator champion in Rory MacDonald.

Specifically, people with knowledge of the situation first informed MMAJunkie of the abrupt fight news. While Millender competed in the UFC and Bellator, the 33-year old struggled inside of both promotions.

Conversely, MacDonald realized his potential under the Bellator banner. In particular, the former champion beat Douglas Lima for the welterweight title. The welterweight realized his dream of becoming a world champion in 2018. Initially, worries that the Canadian legend might be losing his passion for the fight game came up but he put a halt to those notions in 2020 after he lost his title to a familiar foe.

Rory MacDonald And Curtis Millender To Compete Under PFL Promotion

Interestingly, both athletes have been competitors inside three different promotions now but only now are they finally fighting. With such a monumental grand prize, certainly, each competitor is focused on winning and advancing in the 2021 PFL tournament.

Prior to the pairing, MacDonald is recovering from a brutal loss to  Lima for the welterweight title at Bellator 232. However, now “The Red King” has the chance to redeem himself with another shot at supremacy and a million dollars. Overall, the fight is going to be exciting considering the experience of both men alongside the stakes of the matchup.

On the other hand, Millender is looking to rebound from a loss to Sabah Homasi back at Bellator 243. So there is no doubt both fighters will be bringing a lot of pressure to make up for their last lackluster performances.

With the addition to Rory MacDonald vs. Curtis Millender, here is the most up-to-date lineup for PFL 2:
