Professional Fighting League announced their second week of fight lineups on Tuesday and it features the return of Rory MacDonald. The 2021 PFL Week begins on April 29.
The former Bellator Welterweight Champion will make his debut against the promotion’s 2019 runner-up, David Michaud. The card will feature ten fights with MacDonald at the top.
Rory MacDonald To Make PFL Debut At Welterweight
Prior to the matchup, Macdonald had a successful run inside the Bellator promotion. At Bellator 192, MacDonald captured the welterweight title after a grueling war with Douglas Lima. While the fight concluded in controversy it was still a thrilling one. Although, all good things come to an end as Lima won the rematch, and not only that but also took home a million dollars as well.
After all the mayhem of losing the belt and money, MacDonald moved on from Bellator to PFL, where he looks to keep his eyes locked on to that evasive million-dollar prize. While the “Red King” now has a new home, it’s a fresh opportunity to show how his name transcends past promotional lines.
Overall, MacDonald is a well-rounded athlete with a very solid shot at winning the grand prize at PFL. However, questions surfaced about his commitment to the sport before, so that may be a topic of discussion moving forward.
