“The Notorious” remains the most wanted man in mixed martial arts as he shared on Twitter that he cashed in over 1.5 million pay-per-view shares in his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier.
The two met for a third time to determine who would reign supreme in their highly anticipated trilogy. Taking place in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV., Conor McGregor was stopped for a second time back-to-back at the hands of “The Diamond”.
During the heated contest, McGregor started fast, and the first round was closely contested. After round one concluded the superstar could no longer continue. According to McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh, the 33-year-old went into the trilogy fight with an injured ankle. As a result, the bout would end by doctor’s stoppage, and the former double champion sustained serious injuries to his tibia. Recently, Poirier announced on social media that he has signed the bout agreement for a title fight against Charles Oliveira.
During his time off nursing his leg, McGregor revealed on Monday how much he cashed in on the mega event held back in July. Despite McGregor’s string of losses, it appears the brash Irishman is still big business any time he graces ‘Sin City’.

After sharing the 1.5 million pay-per-view buys on Twitter, it certainly makes sense as to why we continue to see McGregor spoiled in riches. One of our earlier reports showed that “The Notorious” topped the Forbes’ 2021 Richest Athletes List. Some have questioned the legitimacy of achieving #1 on the list because much of McGregor’s wealth has been accrued outside of the UFC. Even so, his affinity to produce money is seemingly never-ending. When McGregor returns to the lightweight picture, we might have a new champion if Poirier is to topple the current Brazilian submission ace, Charles Oliveira.
Do you think Conor McGregor will top 1.5 million pay-per-view buys in his next UFC appearance?
