It seems both athletes have been a bit up and down in the UFC but clearly have heaps of talent. In fact, the two have previously competed in 2016, where Grant won by unanimous decision. However, a lot of time has passed and Vera is an evolved version of his former self.

For example, “Chito” Vera ignited the MMA world after his finish win over the popular Sean O’Malley. Ultimately, the Ecuadorian was able to disable O’Malley with some nasty leg kicks that led to a finishing sequence on the mat.

Marlon Vera Vs. Davey Grant  – Two Finishers

Following Vera’s biggest win of his career, the spotlight was on him and he earned a fight with former featherweight great Jose Aldo. While the fight was close at first, Aldo’s timing and distance management were difficult hurdles to overcome. Even though Vera didn’t get his hand raised, the 28-year old learned a lot in losing to such a storied legend.

On the other hand, riding a three-fight win streak, Grant has the chance to assert himself as one of the top figures in the division. Prior to the matchup, Grant shocked the world when he quickly dispatched Jonathan Martinez with an overhand right in the second round at UFC Vegas 21.

Following the knockout, it was clear the Englishman has dynamite in his hands. Overall, Grant has a big test ahead of him, and Vera has the chance to rebound after losing to Aldo.

With the addition, the updated June 19 card includes:

  • Chan Sung Jung vs. Dan Ige
  • Matt Brown vs. Dhiego Lima
  • Virna Jandiroba vs. Kanako Murata
  • Roque Martinez vs. Josh Parisian
  • Bruno Silva vs. Wellington Turman
  • Julian Erosa vs. Seungwoo Choi
  • Casey O’Neill vs. Lara Procopio
  • Tyson Nam vs. Tagir Ulanbekov
  • Davey Grant vs. Marlon Vera
