Marcin Tybura returns to face fellow heavyweight Blagoy Ivanov at the huge UFC 260 event. The fight announcement was first reported by Artur Mazur in a social media post on Twitter via WP SportoweFakty. Following the fight announcement, it would make for the second heavyweight fight on the card. The other fight is, of course, UFC Heavyweight Champion, Stipe Miocic taking on Francis Ngannou.
The momentum of each athlete appears to differ in this pairing. Mostly because Tybura is coming in hot on a four-fight win-streak, while Ivanov is fumbling through a two-fight losing skid. Even though that may impact that matchup, a fellow heavyweight fight on the card certainly compliments the main event.
Marcin Tybura vs. Blagoy Ivanov – Ready For Important Clash At UFC 260
Prior to the heavyweight matchup, the 35-year old Tybura has been on a roll. In particular, the heavyweight has put together a win-streak that recently includes the likes of Maxim Grishin, Ben Rothwell, and Greg Hardy. Actually, all of those wins were accomplished inside of 2020, and his last victory against Hardy resulted in a finish with vicious ground and pound. Since Tybura comes in with recent success, there is definite pressure to assert himself as the dominant contender amongst the division.
Conversely, Ivanov needs a big win since his last couple of outings did not result in his favor. But it’s important to understand the type of opponents he faced, for example, he took on top-tier athletes like Derrick Lewis and Augusto Sakai, which he took both of those ranked heavyweights to a split decision. Despite losing those fights, he continues to demonstrate how much tenacity and toughness he enters the cage with.
