Makwan Amirkhani will meet Nate Landwehr in a UFC bout on June 5.

Specifically, the news of the heated featherweight fight was first announced by MMA DNA. “Mr. Finland” has not fought since last Oct., in which he dropped a unanimous decision loss to top lightweight Edson Barboza who moved down in weight. Similarly, the ultra-aggressive Landwehr is also coming off a loss. The 32-year old American suffered a brutal knockout loss via flying knee to Julian Erosa at the UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Lewis event.

With each fighter looking to get back in the win column with a statement win, the fight has the makings to be the fight of the night for sure.

Featherweight Scrap – Makwan Amirkhani Vs. Nate Landwehr

The featherweight bout is scheduled for June 5. Sporting eleven submissions on his record, Amirkhani is an absolute problem on the mat. However, it’s not just because he’s an opportunist, but because he is so methodical.

The featherweight veteran treats the mat like a grappling chessboard, and his anticipation has led to some spectacular submissions. For example, his last win came from an anaconda choke against Danny Henry and the performance exemplified his ability to capitalize on grappling foresight.

Landwehr did not get his nickname “The Train” because he wins fights by submission. Overall, the American striker prefers to get his business done on the feet, and his record reflects it. In particular, Landwehr has eight finishes by KO/TKO in his fourteen professional wins.

The two fighters have a commanding finishing percentage. With the addition of Makwan Amirkhani Vs. Nate Landwehr here is an up-to-date list of UFC fights scheduled for June 5:
