A thrilling fight between former champ Jose Aldo will take on Pedro Munhoz in his relentless pursuit for another world title.

The bantamweight firefight is in the works for August 7. A person with knowledge of the situation informed sources at MMA Junkie that the information is indeed accurate. The two athletes got back on the winning track in their last respective fights. While the promotion has yet to make a formal announcement, the source categorized the fight as a “done deal. To the dismay of many, former featherweight champion Jose Aldo made the cut to 135lbs and has looked outstanding ever since making the transition.

UFC 265 Will See Jose Aldo And Pedro Munhoz Battle For Rankings

First, the massive pay-per-view will be headlined by the GOAT of the female weight divisions, Amanda Nunes, who will look to thwart off another contender in the form of grappling ace, Julianna Peña. In addition, the card is packed with some very exciting fights like Uriah Hall Vs. Sean Strickland. With a location or venue for the event yet to be announced, surely the champ Nunes and Aldo would love to fight on home turf. However, given all of the COVID-19 restrictions that are likely improbable.

Prior to the pairing with Munhoz, Aldo revamped his career after a brutal three-fight losing skid. The Brazilian scored wins over Renato Moicano and Marlon Vera along the messy road. Aldo lost to some of the very best in the division, but always put forth a valiant effort. In his title fight against Petr Yan, the Brazilian legend was too tough for his own good. Despite losing the fight and taking massive damage, fans would never question his toughness or durability again.

Munhoz’s evolution in the UFC has been fun to watch. Initially, he entered the UFC green but has improved exponentially. Consequently, the fighter is able to angle off more effectively to land his shots now. Even though he took a loss to Frankie Edgar, that fight educated Munhoz and without a doubt, elevated his striking game.

Who do you believe will win in this bantamweight showdown, Jose Aldo or Pedro Munhoz?
