“Gamebred” Jorge Masvidal has some busy time on his hands. The BMF Champion in the UFC will be challenging and rematching Kamaru Usman for the welterweight championship Saturday night at UFC 261 in Jacksonville, Florida. Now on top of being a UFC fighter, he is also a promoter in combat sports.

The 36-year old had announced that he alongside hip-hop artist Anuel AA will be co-promoting the new Gamebred Fighting Championship organization, per MMAfighting.com.

“[Anuel AA and I] have teamed up to bring you the most vicious fights we could think of Bare Knuckle MMA,” wrote Masvidal, who included footage from his early days as a street fighter. “That’s right no gloves same rules and the first fight will be in Miami on June 25.”

With an unannounced venue taking place in Miami on June 25, the American Top Team standout’s promotion has signed a one-year contract with Bare Knuckle TV to livestream their events. Fighters who sign with the promotion will also have an opportunity to sign with the UFC if they receive an offer, which is a clause in each participant’s contract. The promotion also has its sights set on traveling in states where bare-knuckle is illegal.

Masvidal’s show joins a growing field of bare-knuckle promoters, that includes Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, which has run several bare-knuckle boxing events in the state of Florida. On Saturday, the “BMF” champion returns to action just nine months after being handed a one-sided decision loss to Usman in a short-notice title shot at UFC 251 back in July 2020.
