Two thrilling lightweights in Joel Alvarez and Thiago Moises will lock horns on a special UFC Fight Night event scheduled to go down on November 13.
Alvarez will enter the fight with a three-fight winning streak intact. Meanwhile, Moises is attempting to get back into the winner’s circle after losing to the surging lightweight contender Islam Makhachev. News of the match-up was first reported by Alvarez himself on social media.
As of this writing, the lightweights will contend inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card is sure to be special considering the headlining act. After watching Alexander Volkanovski defend his title in dramatic fashion against Brian Ortega, Max “Blessed” Holloway returns to the ultimate proving grounds. The former champion will return and take on Yair Rodriguez in an informal number one contender bout.
With three wins and momentum behind Alvarez, the submission specialist could put himself on the lightweight map if he comes out victorious on Nov. 13. Without a doubt, Moises is putting himself back in the fire considering he just lost by submission against the rising Makhachev. Alvarez will have a chance to establish himself among the top-15 with a signature win over a legitimate force in the UFC’s lightweight gauntlet.
Moises has laid waste to some of the most potent strikers at 155-pounds. With signature wins over Michael Johnson, Bobby Green, and Alexander Hernandez, the Brazilian remains one of the more well-rounded lightweights on the roster.
With the addition of the lightweight pairing, here is an up-to-date lineup for the Fight Night event on Nov. 13.
