Joanna Jedrzejczyk knows she has to change her approach against Weili Zhang at UFC 275.
The former strawweight champ, Jedrzjeczyk, hasn’t fought since UFC 248 in March of 2020 when she dropped a split decision to Zhang for the belt. It was one of the best fights of all time and now, ahead of the rematch, Jedrzejczyk knows what she did wrong. She needs to fight smarter this time around in Singapore.
“I need to be a bit smarter,” Jedrzejczyk said on a UFC 275 conference call. “I’m going to come back. I’m very happy to get my second fight with Weili Zhang and go for the belt right after. Last fight was very close, and the decision could go either way. I felt like I did enough in the first fight. She was the champ at that time, so sometimes you have to do more to beat the champion. But I feel like I gave all I had in Vegas in March 2020, so we’re working on some things. We’re sharpening some tools.”

Although Joanna Jedrzjeczyk is coming off a lengthy layoff. Still, she remains one of the top-ranked strawweights, and she knows that if she beats Weili Zhang, she will get a title shot. However, she knows that is easier said than done. Nonetheless, she remains confident she will get her hand raised and then fight for the belt next time out.
