Former UFC champion Holly Holm can now add boxing Hall of Famer to her long list of combat sports accomplishments.
“The Preacher’s Daughter” was inducted into the prestigious lot of the boxing 2022 Hall of Fame. The career bantamweight is known for her ability to strike and is now especially well known for her dynamic kicking inside the Octagon.
Holly Holm captured the hearts of MMA fans around the world after dethroning Ronda Rousey at a time where many believed Rousey to be unstoppable. Rousey’s Judoka ability constantly threatened her opponents, though the skill gap seemingly closed as Ronda Rousey’s career progressed through the years. She shook the world at UFC: 193 in Australia. Both combatants entered the contest undefeated but Rousey closed as a massive favorite in every sportsbook.
Like a bull and a matador, Holly Holm outmaneuvered Rousey and eventually found a home for her now-famous high kick. After knocking Rousey out unconscious, she made history. Frankly, her performance will live on for years to come given the impact that fight had on UFC history. Nevertheless, it’s her boxing skills that have earned her a spot in the Hall of Fame.
