Henry Cejudo isn’t interested in rematching Dominick Cruz in his return.
Recently, Cejudo announced he is back in the USADA testing pool and will make his return this year. Given he is a former champ and a big name several fighters have called him out, including Cruz, as he wants to rematch Cejudo. “Triple C” , however, doesn’t have much interest in it.
Cejudo vs Cruz 2?
“Dominick ‘Snooze’ – he had his opportunity. He couldn’t make it past two rounds with me,” Cejudo said on “The Triple C & Schmo Show.” “It was ridiculous. I got rid of him. That’s why I dedicated ‘Technique of the Week’ and got over 130,000 views off of it because it shows that not only did I knock him out (and showed diversity) with my knee, but also I knocked him out so much – I mean, I hurt him so bad that I literally woke him up.”
I'm honestly flattered these bantamweights can't keep my name out of their damn mouths! Get back in line Dominick Snooze– been there, done that.
Time is running out, the champ will be back soon ⏰

“So Dominick ‘Snooze,’”, he continued, “get in back of the line. I gave you an opportunity the first time. You couldn’t get it done. You couldn’t last no more than two rounds. I want somebody that’s capable of at least lasting another round with me.”
Cejudo and Cruz fought at UFC 249 where Cejudo defended his bantamweight title for the first time with a second-round TKO. After the win, he announced his retirement from the sport. Given Cruz was his last fight, it doesn’t seem like the UFC would book the rematch for Cejudo.
When Will Henry Cejudo Fight Next?
For now, Cejudo will remain in the gym as he awaits his return fight. Currently, he is preparing to return and says he will reclaim his crown once again.
“More likely I’ll be fighting toward the end of the year, and I’m looking forward to it,” Cejudo said. “I’m gonna be prepared. You guys are going to see the best version of ‘Triple C,’ and I’m reclaiming my crown once again because these dudes make me absolutely sick.”
In March, Cejudo named Alexander Volkanovski, the current featherweight champion, as an opponent he’d like to face. “I still believe that I do have the ability,” he said at the time. “The speed, the wrestling, the IQ, the experience, the toughness, the grit to really challenge a man like that.”
