Former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett has finally been signed to the UFC.
The UFC’s official European Twitter account was the first to report the big news. Specifically, Pimblett is an aggressive fighter and well-rounded. However, Pimblett has always had a very dangerous and unpredictable ground game. With half of his sixteen wins coming by way of submission, he’s an obvious threat on the ground.

Cage Warriors Star And Former Champ Paddy Pimblett Signs With The UFC
In particular, last March Pimblett competed at Cage Warriors 113 and finished the fight fast, and emphatically. Pimblet was able to get the fight to the ground and after an aggressive barrage of punches the 24-year old finished Decky Dalton with a rear-naked choke. At this point, the prospect was already calling for his shot inside the UFC.
Following that lightning-quick submission, the Liverpool native went on to demolish Davide Martinez at Cage Warriors 122. Interestingly, Pimblett was also able to finish the fight with a rear-naked choke and did so on the exact same day as when he beat Dalton in 2020. Then, after he submitted Martinez Pimblett began calling for his UFC opportunity again.
Featherweight Gets A Mix-Up
Granted, the UFC featherweight division is extremely talented, undoubtedly Pimblett will mix in nicely since his grappling pedigree is so unique. Not to mention with grappling experts like Demian Maia on their way out or retiring soon, the style is definitely a sight to behold when you see it unfold so effortlessly.
Overall, Pimblett should shake up the UFC featherweight division, perhaps an opponent like Ryan Hall would be a fun test and debut to see just where the Liverpool star stands inside the premier North American promotion.
