Former title challenger Felicia Spencer will look to get back on track when she faces Leah Letson at a UFC event on November 13.
Sources with MMA Fighting were first to announce news of the featherweight showdown. The 30-year old Spencer will look to rebound after coming up short in her last two bouts. Initially, Spencer entered the UFC on fire after finishing Megan Anderson with a slick rear-naked choke.
Despite putting up a good fight, and showing off her toughness, Spencer lost the fight by unanimous decision. However, ever since the loss, the featherweight has struggled to get her career back on track. Following her loss to the champ, Spencer intended to get back in the win column against Norma Dumont, but Dumont managed to edge out the victory by earning a split decision back in May.
Letson enters the contest with a professional record of 5-1. Despite the lack of experience, her power speaks for itself. Of five professional fights, the 29-year old has finished three of them. Last November, Letson demanded attention after her big win over Julija Stoliarenko on The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale. Now, Letson will get an opportunity to fight a bigger name in the UFC. A lot is on the line for Letson, as she took a three-year hiatus from the sport after various injuries forced her to the sidelines.
With the addition of Felicia Spencer vs. Leah Letson in the works, here is an updated lineup for the UFC event on Nov. 13:
- Max Holloway vs. Yair Rodriguez
- Philipe Lins vs. Ovince St. Preux
- Ben Rothwell vs. Marcos Rogério de Lima
- Lando Vannata vs. Tucker Lutz
- Jessica Eye vs. Andrea Lee
- Felicia Spencer vs. Leah Letson
