If you want to see Conor McGregor return to the Octagon again, it’s going to cost you a little more than you might want it to spend. The Worldwide Leader In Sports (ESPN) announced that the prices of the UFC Pay-Per-View events will increase in price to $69.99 starting January 23 with UFC 257 announced last week.

UFC 257 will feature McGregor going up against Dustin Poirier at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in a 2014 rematch where McGregor won in the first round via TKO in Las Vegas.

ESPN will also raise the price for annual ESPN subscriptions to $59.99 per year, which is a 20 percent increase from the current $49.99 fee. According to a report from Variety, ESPN will allow renewals of annual subscriptions for existing subscribers at $49.99 until at least March 2, 2021.

This will come as the second price hike for UFC pay-per-views on ESPN since the organization inked an exclusive deal with the network back in 2019. Prices were originally increased from $59.99 to $64.99, and now an additional $5 charge will be added for UFC pay-per-view broadcasts starting this year. The monthly subscription cost for ESPN+ also increased to $5.99 from $4.99.

ESPN+ has over 11.5 million subscribers going back to December, where nearly double the total number of subscribers added over the past year. The UFC has made a big contribution in the subscriber base for ESPN+ growing at such a high rate after the promotion moved to the network following the conclusion of its deal with FOX.

As for the main eventer of UFC 257, this is what “The Notorious” had to tweet in response to the news before 2020 ended.
