Jamall Emmers returns to the cage to face Daniel Pineda at the May 14 UFC event.

Currently, the venue and location have yet to be announced. MMA Junkie was the first to report the match-up. In addition to this featherweight pairing, former UFC champion Miesha Tate takes over the Octagon when she is tasked with facing “Lucky” Lauren Murphy.

A Look at the UFC Careers of Jamall Emmers and Daniel Pineda

Jamall Emmers entered the UFC in a short notice bout against Giga Chikadze in March 2020. While Emmers impressed in his debut, it was the “Ninja” who secured the split-decision victory. Heading into his debut fight, Jamall Emmers compiled an impressive 4-fight winning streak outside of the UFC. What made his win streak so special was the fact that he overcame adversity after being finished by TKO against Julian Erosa on the Contender Series in 2018. Before entering the UFC, Emmers had gained experience while fighting for Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA).

Emmers fought Vince Cachero next in his second UFC bout and realized his first victory with the promotion. As of late, the featherweight fought once in 2021 and suffered a defeat to Pat Sabatini by heel-hook in the first round.

Meanwhile, Daniel Pineda returns after spending a year away from the octagon. Following his TKO loss to Cub Swanson, Pineda is determined to get back in the win column. The featherweight first entered the UFC in 2012 against Pat Schilling.

Pineda is making his anticipated return to the cage after serving a 9-month suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for banned substances. The 27-14 fighter is an effective finisher and has earned a total of 18 submissions of his overall 27 victories.

“Pretty Boy” will be looking to move forward and establish himself as a name in the UFC. Having never lost back-to-back fights in his career, certainly, fans will be circling this featherweight showdown on their calendars.

With the addition of Jamal Emmers vs. Daniel Pineda, here is a tentative list of scheduled bouts for the UFC event on May 14:

  • Lauren Murphy vs. Miesha Tate
  • Viviane Araujo vs. Andrea Lee
  • Frank Camacho vs. Manuel Torres
  • Jamall Emmers vs. Daniel Pineda

Who do you believe will take the victory in this featherweight match-up?
