With Diego Sanchez no longer with the UFC, Donald Cerrone will now face Alex Morono.

The news of the announcement was first reported by sources at ESPN. Additionally, Cerrone will fight at 170lbs, and look to get back in the win column after suffering four defeats in a row. With the headliner of the card dropping out due to injury, certainly having Cowboy in the co-main event will help the card out.

Earlier this week, it was reported that former 2X bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw suffered from a cut above his eye which forced him out of competition.

In particular, Cerrone will face Alex Morono who is looking to rebound. Following his defeat to former champion Anthony Pettis, Morono is eager to get back to his winning ways.

Donald Cerrone and Alex Morono Will Meet This Saturday

After Sanchez fell out of their scheduled bout, there were definite worries that fans may not see Cowboy compete this weekend. At least now the card has a solid co-main event. Since Morono trains with Geoff Neal, many have seen his standup evolve. With a shot at a legend, it will be exciting to see if the young prospect can capitalize on the moment.

With the fight between Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen off the card, now the strawweights will headline and fight five rounds. Specifically, Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson will top the card in a pivotal match that could determine a divisional hierarchy.

With the recent announcement of Donald Cerrone Vs. Alex Morono, here is an up-to-date lineup of the UFC Vegas 26 card:

  • Marina Rodriguez  vs.  Michelle Waterson
  • Donald Cerrone  vs.  Alex Morono
  • Neil Magny  vs.  Geoff Neal
  • Maurice Greene  vs.  Marcos Rogério de Lima
  • Diego Ferreira  vs.  Gregor Gillespie
  • Amanda Ribas  vs.  Angela Hill
