Darren Till has all the confidence in the world that Tom Aspinall will be a future heavyweight champion.

In the main event of UFC London, Aspinall picked up the biggest win of his career as he submitted Alexander Volkov in the first round. With the win, the Brit became a top-six heavyweight and could be a win away from a title shot at heavyweight. He has looked phenomenal on the fete and on the ground and Till believes Aspinall will be a future champion and would beat Jon Jones rather easily.

“He just texted me and told me to stop calling out [Ciryl] Gane for him,” Till said on The Triple C & Schmo Show (via MMAFighting). “He wants to fight Tai [Tuivasa] then Gane. So I think he knows his road. I think he’s gonna be the next champion at heavyweight. I think he would play with [Jon] Jones, I really do.”

Tom Aspinall no doubt looks like the real deal but he still needs to pick up another win or two before he can be in the title picture. He does look like a special talent and hasn’t gotten past the second round in his UFC tenure and became just the fifth person to finish Volkov and did it in the first round which shows how good he is. If he does get the Tuivasa fight next and wins, a title fight would be likely.

As for Darren Till, he’s currently rehabbing an injury and training with Khamzat Chimaev as he awaits his next fight. He has been vocal in wanting to fight Uriah Hall next time out as he looks to become a middleweight title contender. The Brit is coming off a submission loss to Derek Brunson after losing to Robert Whittaker in a very close decision in his second middleweight bout after beating Kelvin Gastelum in his debut.
