It was announced that the fight will happen on July 10th, but there is no set location for the fight. As for holding events inside the Octagon, UFC 261 is set to be held in Jacksonville, Florida on April 24 and UFC 262 in Houston, Texas on May 15. White made it clear that he wanted to return to arenas and start having fans come to the events via MMAMania.com.
Listen, don’t get me wrong, this is amazing, I’m sure it’s much easier for you guys too,” he said. “We pull into the parking lot, roll in. This is like people getting lazy working at home. You leave your pajama bottoms on, put on a nice top for your computer screen zoom meeting. It’s the easy lazy way to do things. But this isn’t the right thing to do. We should be in sold-out arenas. Packed, fans going crazy.”
“Unfortunately we’re going to have to start traveling to all these cities again. But that’s the right thing to do. This is the easy lazy thing to do and it’s nice and it was awesome while it lasted, but hopefully, this is over.”
The outspoken UFC President is will be giving the states of Texas and Florida a test run having crowds in arenas once again. They are ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively among the states with the highest cases, per Worldometers.info.
