The UFC and president Dana White announced that the pay-per-view tickets for the Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier 3 show sold out in mere seconds.

Some thought that the third bout might not come together. Mainly because of a Twitter spat about a donation that never came to Poirier’s foundation. However, amidst the pre-fight tension, McGregor assured the former interim champion a mistake was made.

McGregor insists the money is there but a proper plan was never put in place to donate to the foundation. Following the mayhem, Poirier issued an apology for bringing the issue into the spotlight before they signed their third bout agreement.

Despite all of the social media drama, the fight is on. UFC president Dana White announced that the third bout is official and will go down at UFC 264. Specifically, the card is set for summer and slated for the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

With the intention of packing an entire arena, UFC will be back in full swing by UFC 264. In particular, the rubber match is set for July 10. Not to mention, the co-main event already features two former title challengers in Gilbert Burns and Stephen Thompson going head-to-head.

“Sold out in seconds. 20,800 fans in Las Vegas,” per Dana White and the UFC social media post.

Overall, with the Irishman’s legendary status on the line and perhaps a title shot, pressure couldn’t be higher in this upcoming battle. Each has a score to settle, and each has a win over the other.

In the end, like the second fight, game-plan tactics and strategy will be essential to getting the job done, and the more disciplined athlete will likely get their hand raised. Either way, with the show selling out in seconds, rest assured the fight will deliver just like the first two.

Do you believe Conor McGregor will get back to his winning ways at lightweight, or will Poirier take him out in their third meeting? Let us know your prediction below!
