Less than a day before UFC on ABC 2, Norma Dumont missed weight and the commission decided to nix the fight following the weight miss.
This is the second time the Dumont has come in overweight by about four pounds. News of the weight miss came at the UFC On ABC 2 weigh-ins. Specifically, Dumont did the same thing in her last fight against Ashlee Evans-Smith. While Blanchfield’s manager sent out a statement saying the team was ready to take the fight, the comment seemed futile as the fight was called off shortly after.
Prior to the matchup, Dumont dominated Smith en route to a unanimous decision victory. Conversely, Erin Blanchfield is set to make her debut in the UFC but now it will have to wait.

Overall, the two were on the preliminary card for the Holland vs. Vettori card. In the pandemic era, canceled fights and different opponents seem to be the norm. Over the course of the week, news circulated that Darren Till was removed from his fight with Marvin Vettori.
Initially, Vettori questioned Till thinking he was looking for a more favorable matchup but since then, Till said on social media that he sent Vettori a picture message of the x-ray of his broken collar bone. In the meantime, Holland is stepping in and facing Vettori.
While the bout with Dumont and Blanchfield is now canceled, the UFC fight card will continue on with a total of thirteen bouts.
