The former 2x K-1 World Champion and a 6-time Kickboxing World Champion, Chingiz Allazov is now an agent of chaos. However, the kickboxing great’s new home is at ONE Championship. The news was first reported by Timo Ruge. Prior to being accepted into one of China’s premier promotions, “Chinga” has been collecting heads at Bellator MMA. Although Allazov’s proving grounds mostly unfolded at the K-1 World Grand Prix.
Consequently, the Georgian-born fighter was riding a 6-fight win streak before running into his first loss. Allazov is a heavy-handed lightweight. While kickboxing, he demonstrated power in both of his hands. For example, at K-1 World GP 2017 he finished Jordann Pikeur with a thunderous left hook. Then, at the K-1 World GP 2018, Allazov proved his other hand is just as deadly when he sent Hinata Watanabe crashing to the mat with a right hook.
Chingiz Allazov headed for the ONE Championship Cage
With such a stacked lightweight (80Kg) division, Allazov is an exciting injection of talent. He will be joined by legendary athletes like ONE Lightweight champion, Christian Lee. Also fighting in the gauntlet with him will be a former champion in Shinya Aoki. Not to mention, the ONE Lightweight belt has been like a hot potato for the last couple of years. So Allazov will have no shortage of opponents as the cupboard couldn’t be more full. Additionally, former two-time lightweight king, Eduard Folayang is also hungry to get back to where he was in 2018.
Overall, the ONE Lightweight landscape is looking as strong as ever. Considering the traction some of their shows received last year, surely whatever event Allazov lands on will be a big one. Despite Allazov being a seasoned kickboxer, the athlete will be tested on all fronts at his first mixed martial arts contest.
