After Montserrat Ruiz pulled out of her scheduled bout on Dec. 4, Mallory Martin and Cheyanne Vlismas will now meet at the UFC fight night event.

The reported match-up was first revealed by Mike Heck with MMA Fighting. Martin will return to action and look to earn her second UFC victory on Dec. 4. Prior to the fight announcement, Martin struggled against Brazil’s Polyana Viana. The 7-4 Martin suffered an arm-bar defeat in the very first round against Viana. Instead of Ruiz, Vlismas will fill in on short notice in the proposed strawweight contest.

Monsterrat Ruiz is out of her UFC Vegas 44 matchup with Mallory Martin. Cheyanne Buys will step in to face Martin at the Dec. 4 event, per multiple sources. Story coming to MMA Fighting.

“Monsterrat Ruiz is out of her UFC Vegas 44 matchup with Mallory Martin. Cheyanne Buys will step in to face Martin at the Dec. 4 event, per multiple sources. Story coming to MMA Fighting.” Mike Heck posted.

Cheyanne Vlismas Steps In On Short- Notice

The UFC fight night card will be headlined by former featherweight champion Jose Aldo taking on the #4-ranked Rob Font. Before being tapped on short notice, Contender Series alum Vlismas earned the biggest win of her UFC career. “The Warrior Princess” was tasked with facing Gloria de Paula. The performance would not last long, as Vlismas earned a commanding knockout performance 4-minutes into the opening frame. A vicious head kick led to a finish with punches and now Vlismas finds herself on the precipice of her first UFC winning streak.

Martin also comes from the Contender Series. The 27-year-old earned a unanimous decision victory against Micol di Segni but took a fight with Invicta before the UFC signed her to the promotion. The strawweight was paired in a very tough debut when she went against Virna Jandiroba. While she would lose by rear-naked choke submission, the prospect earned her first victory in the promotion following the debut loss. The two strawweights will be looking for a statement performance in order to assert themselves among a busy division of contenders on Dec. 4.

With the addition of Cheyanne Vlismas vs. Mallory Martin, here is an updated lineup for the first UFC event of December:

  • Rob Font  vs.  José Aldo
  • Rafael Fiziev  vs.  Brad Riddell
  • Matt Brown  vs.  Bryan Barberena
  • Claudio Puelles  vs.  C. Gruetzemacher
  • Jimmy Crute  vs.  Jamahal Hill
  • Mallory Martin vs. Cheyanne Vlismas
  • Brad Tavares  vs.  Brendan Allen
  • Z. Zhumagulov  vs.  Manel Kape
  • Louis Smolka  vs.  Vince Morales
  • Jake Matthews  vs.  Jeremiah Wells
  • Clay Guida  vs.  Leonardo Santos
  • Alex Morono  vs.  Mickey Gall
  • Maki Pitolo  vs.  Duško Todorović

Do you think Cheyanne Vlismas will continue her streak of finishes at the UFC event on Dec. 4?
