Chris “Golden Gloves” Sarro is a Heavyweight on a mission.
He has been tearing through his opponents with precision with goals to capture the BKFC heavyweight title. Sarro has been an extremely frustrated man as of late. He has had multiple fights canceled over the last couple of months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sarro finally has a reason to smile as the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) heavyweight has an opponent in Billy Martin for BKFC’s 11th event going down on July 24th in Mississippi.
Sarro made his Professional MMA debut at NEF40 where he knocked out Ras Hylton with a monster punch in the very first round. Since then, the two massive heavyweights have developed a solid friendship and have become training buddies. ‘Golden Gloves’ became emotional when discussing how their friendship evolved after knocking out Hylton in a scary manner.
“I reached out to him after the fight and said I know you are worth a lot more than that. He’s a good friend. I didn’t want a career to end that way and especially I didn’t want to be the reason for it. When I reached out to him he turned it all around, he showed me a lot. If someone did that to me, I don’t know that I would be able to travel up to their gym and train with him and his coach”.
Recently, Hylton has had a war of words with another New England heavyweight in Tyler King. Sarro gets amped up when I bring up King’s name as he feels the former NFL defensive end has been disrespectful towards Hylton and his family.
“When you don’t show respect and you choose to be disrespectful that’s when the violent part in me comes out. Tyler King went up to Hylton’s wife and daughter and did the cut-throat symbol before he did it to Ras. Fortunately, I was able to meet Tyler as he turned around and he had an answer for his actions like a little boy. He was stuttering and apologizing saying he was planting a seed and he crossed the line”.
The question a lot of New England based fight fans have is whether or not Sarro will face King after the former football player faces Hylton. Sarro made it pretty clear he doesn’t think King will fight him.
“After Ras fights hi I hope Tyler never steps into a cage again. If Tyler steps to me I’ll hit him so hard his head will land six rows back. He doesn’t want to fight me, he knows he doesn’t want to fight me”.
Now Sarro turns his attention to his second BKFC fight and an opponent he is excited for. The heavy-handed boxer expects a similar result to his first BKFC fight. “It’s not gonna go any other way than me bringing one of those medals back home to New England. I’m the only signed Bare Knuckle boxer in New England and we are about to bring back our second win, it’s exciting”.
