On Friday night, October 16 comes perhaps the most important event in the young history of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. The main event includes Joey “The Mexicutioner” Beltran (18-15, 1 NC in MMA, 3-1-1 BKFC) as he defends his BKFC Heavyweight Championship against Marcel Stamps (4-2-0 MMA, 1-0 BKFC) at the Tony’s Pizza Event Center in Salina, Kansas.

Beltran, 38, is currently riding a two-fight winning streak, defeating Jamie Campbell last June and Chase Sherman back in November to win the championship. In his first fight in almost a year, he looks to defend successfully against the 35-year old 7-time MMA and bare-knuckle pro. To Stamps’ credit, he was a 3-star outside linebacker at the University of Alabama for five seasons and played under Nick Saban in 2007 and 2008.

In the co-main event, Nico Hernandez (7-0-0 Boxing, 0-0 BKFC) goes head-to-head against Chancey Wilson (2-4-0 MMA, 0-0 BKFC) in their BKFC debuts as they are already facing off for the BKFC Championship. Both were scheduled for a bout back on March 14th but was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak, which caused a worldwide shutdown. As things continue to return to normalcy, there will be more fights scheduled as they come along so stay tuned for more information.
