This Saturday night on October 10 is inching closer to perhaps the biggest fight card in the lives of several Kansas natives as the city of Salina prepares for a big event of pivotal proportions. Defending Heavyweight Champion Joey “Mexicutioner” Beltran (18-15-0 MMA, 3-1-1 BKFC) defends his title for the first time against former Alabama Crimson Tide football star Marcel Stamps (4-2 MMA, 1-0 BKFC). With the fight half a week away, Beltran’s first title defense is an important one against a seven-fight novice in Stamps. Will Marcel “Roll Tide” over the champion or will Beltran “Mexicute” the Birmingham native?

The co-main event includes Wichita natives Nico Hernandez (3-0 Boxing, 0-0 BKFC) and Chancey Wilson (2-4-0 MMA, 0-0 BKFC) as both men make their debut in their home state against one another, this seems to be as critical a fight ever for both men as they look to represent themselves and Kansas as properly as can be…with a win over the other.
Also, Bellator MMA refugee and welterweight David “Caveman” Rickels (21-5 MMA, 0-0 BKFC) will also make his BKFC debut as the Derby, Kansas born fighter squares off against Cedar Rapids, Iowa native and journeyman MMA fighter in lightweight Cliff Wright (12-14 MMA, 0-0 BKFC). Coming off two submission losses, it looks like bare knuckle boxing is a safer bet for Wright as a he looks to battle a fellow seasoned veteran in Rickels. Caveman’s advantage is a 16-6 Bellator MMA record.

Sam Shewmaker (3-1-1 BKFC, 1-1 Boxing) knuckles up against Josh “The Hammer” Burns (8-10-0 MMA, 0-0 BKFC) who faces some insurmountable odds with a four fight MMA losing streak and on top of it, makes his bare knuckle debut against the five-fight BKFC vet. Can the Dearborn, Michigan resident kick it in gear with a win or will Shewmaker’s experience in this second bout of the night. The opening matchup includes Salina’s own John Hollis (2-5-0 MMA, 0-0 BKFC) facing off against Fred Pierce (1-6-0, 0-2 BKFC), who are both looking for their first BKFC victory this weekend.
