Ben Askren is disappointed in his loss to Jake Paul on Saturday night.

In the main event of Triller Fight Club, Askren made his boxing debut against YouTuber, turned boxer in Paul. It was a highly-anticipated fight, and although Askren is far from a boxer, he does have a ton of combat sports experience. However, in the first round, Paul landed an overhand right that dropped Askren and the fight was waved off.

After the loss, Askren says it’s embarrassing to be knocked out by Jake Paul.

“It’s probably deserved,” Askren said after the fight about any ridicule he may receive (via MMAFighting). “Because I got knocked out by Jake Paul. It’s f*king embarrassing.

“I didn’t let the MMA community down, I let the world down,” Askren said. “People f*cking hate Jake Paul and they wanted to see me make him miserable and I didn’t do that. So I didn’t let the MMA community down, I let the world down.”

According to Askren, he believes he was biting too much on Paul’s faints which cost him the fight. Askren also thought he was fine and the fight shouldn’t have been stopped but says the ref did his job.

“I thought I was fine but whatever, that’s his job,” Askren said. “If that’s what he felt, that’s what he did.”

Although Askren lost, he says he will likely make over a million dollars for the fight. And, even though he lost in the first round, he says he still doesn’t respect Paul.

“No, I don’t [respect him],” Askren said. “Cause I want to see him get into a fight. I’m sorry I let you down, I didn’t get into a fight with him. He hit me early. As I said, that’s when you respect someone, when you see what they’re made of.

“I was hoping that you guys would get to see that tonight and I let a lot of people down,” Askren continued. “They didn’t get to see that.”
