Andrea Lee will return to action against Antonina Shevchenko. The sister of the current UFC Flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko will look to expand her winning streak at the UFC event on May 15. While the news was first reported by MMAjunkie, the sources asked to remain anonymous until the promotion announces the fight.

Since Lee is coming off three losses, this is a huge opportunity for the American to score a big win. On the other hand, the 5″8″ Shevchenko is looking to pick up another victory and go on a run. However, right now with her sister as champion, perhaps things could get murky if she climbs her way to the very top.

As aforementioned, the flyweight Lee is coming off three losses, but they were all against tough ranked opponents. First, she went up against Joanne Calderwood. Then took on Lauren Murphy, which both Lee would drop by split decision. Following those two setbacks, Lee looked to bounce back against Roxanne Modafferi although fell short to the veteran in a unanimous decision loss. Despite the steps back, Lee has shown a diverse game inside the cage and has picked up wins by knockout and submission.

Conversely, many thought the sister of the flyweight champion would fly through the division but she has stumbled a bit. However, recently, Shevchenko has gotten back on track. Undoubtedly getting some of the best training in the game, “La Pantera” continues to evolve all facets of her game. Like her sister, she’s even learning to utilize her wrestling more.

In addition to Andrea Lee vs. Antonina Shevchenko, here is the most recent schedule for the UFC event taking place on May 15:

  • Priscila Cachoeira vs. Gina Mazany
  • Viviane Araujo vs. Katlyn Chookagian
  • Alex Perez vs. Matt Schnell
  • Andrea Lee. vs. Antonina Shevchenko
