Andrea Lee will take on number 5th ranked Cynthia Calvillo this weekend at UFC Fight Night. Lee is coming off of a dominant victory against Antonina Shevchenko back in May, where she won via triangle-armbar in the 2nd round.

“KGB” was originally slated to take on number 8 ranked Jessica Eye, however, she was forced to pull out due to an illness.

Cynthia Calvillo is respectably ranked number five in the women’s flyweight division. Calvillo is coming off of a first-round TKO loss at the hands of Jessica Andrade. Calvillo was visibly overpowered by the former flyweight champion Jessica Andrade.

However, Lee has said that she does admire Calvillo and her fighting style. When speaking with LowKick MMA, Andrea Lee explained that “I like Cynthia a lot. I think that she’s a really cool person. I love her fighting style, and I think this is going to be an exciting fight.”

“Cynthia is a very tough opponent, so I’m not sure how it’s going to play out as far as finishing. I’m going to try to keep it out of the hands of the judges. You know, that’s my plan. Keep it from the hands of the judges.”

With only two fights left on her contract, a win over Calvillo will certainly put the odds in her favor during renegotiation. Andrea Lee is currently ranked at number 12, so expect to see a significant jump in ranking with a win over her opponent.

“I can renegotiate after this fight. I believe I have 2 left.”

“I’m keeping that at the back of my mind [her contract] as a push. I want to go out there and I want to be impressive. I want to get the win.”

As a result, expect to see fireworks between these two come Saturday night.

Who do you think will win this Saturday night at UFC Fight Night?
