UFC’s double champion Amanda Nunes and Juliana Pena will fight at the UFC pay-per-view event at UFC 265.
ESPN was the first to report the news of the bantamweight title fight. As of now, the promotion has yet to announce an official name to the card or location/venue.
Amanda Nunes And Juliana Pena – Women’s BW Title Fight
The double champion is coming fresh off one of her most dominant performances. In particular, the champion made light work of the long Megan Anderson. In addition, Nunes underlined her dominance and versatility by taking out Anderson with an inverted-triangle-armbar in the first round. Overall, it seems the skill differential between her a lot of her opponents are just not on the same level.

On the other hand. Pena is on a one-fight win streak. However, in her last fight against Sara McMann, she demonstrated how dangerous her ground game is. In fact, that may be a solid reason for Nunes wanting to take the fight, but the more likely reason is that Nunes just wants to keep collecting title defenses. With the skills of the double champ, it is difficult to envision who can beat her at the moment.
The Women’s Bantamweight Landscape
Since the double champion has already reigned supreme for so long, and against titans like Miesha Tate, Rhonda Rousey, and Valentina Shevchenko (all current or UFC former champions), it will definitely be interesting to see how her career develops. Not to mention the potential fights “The Lioness” will have to look forward to should she get through Pena.
Since the announcement was the first fight for the UFC 265 pay-per-view there is yet to be any additional fights added to the historic pay-per-view
