An important heavyweight fight between number 7th ranked Alexander Volkov and number 8th ranked Jairzinho Rozenstruik will headline the UFC Fight Night on June 4th. The news was first reported by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto on Friday afternoon, as told to him by UFC president Dana White.
The 6 foot 7 Alexander Volkov is from Moscow, Russia holding a professional MMA record of 34 wins and 10 losses. He is 8-4 in the UFC, with 4 of his wins coming by way of knockout. He is coming off of a first-round submission loss to rising UFC heavyweight contender Tom Aspinall on March 19th, 2022 in the main event at UFC London. This will be his 7th main event with the company, and second consecutive.
Rozenstruik (6’2, 258lbs) is from Paramaribo, Suriname, and has a professional MMA record of 12 wins and 3 losses. He is 6-3 in the UFC, with all of his wins coming by way of knockout. This includes a spectacular knockout over Alistair Overeem with four seconds to go in the 5th round of their main event in Washington, DC back in 2019. He is coming off of a 3 round unanimous decision loss to Curtis Blaydes at UFC 266 on September 25th, 2021. This will be his 4th main event with the UFC.
