Alexander Gustafsson will fight one more time before the year is up and will return to pay-per-view. “The Mauler” is a future hall of famer, and has previously retired and come back.

Who will Alexander Gustafsson fight?

According to MMAJunkie, Gustafsson will return on December 10 at UFC 282 in Las Vegas, Nevada against Ovince Saint Preux. The main event of the pay-per-view card has not been announced, but it is rumored to be Jiri Prochazka vs. Glover Teixeira 2.

Alexander Gustafsson (18-8) is on a four-fight losing skid and is coming off a 67-second KO loss to Nikita Krylov at UFC London in July. The fight marked his return to the sport and to the light heavyweight division after taking two years off following his submission loss to Fabricio Werdum in his heavyweight debut. Prior to the loss to Werdum, Gustafsson was submitted by Anthony Smith in the main event of UFC Stockholm and announced his retirement from the sport, which did not last. The losing skid started with a TKO loss to Jon Jones at UFC 232 in 2018 for the light heavyweight title.

Gustafsson’s last win came back in May of 2017 when he knocked out Glover Teixeira after defeating Jan Blachowicz by decision. The Swede has been in the UFC since 2009 and holds a record of 10-8, but is 0-3 in title fights as he has lost twice to Jones and once to Daniel Cormier. He does hold notable wins over Shogun Rua, Jimi Manuwa, and Matt Hamill among others.

Ovince Saint Preux (26-16) snapped his two-fight losing skid last time out as he beat Shogun Rua by split decision at UFC 274. Prior to that, ‘OSP’ was knocked out by Tanner Boser in his return to heavyweight and was TKO’d by Jamahal Hill. Saint Preux has been in the UFC since 2013 and has gone 14-11 inside the Octagon and has also fought for the interim light heavyweight title – dropping a decision to Jon Jones.

The UFC just recently announced a huge fight on this same card Gustafsson and St. Preux are scheduled for. We will see Magomed Ankalaev vs. Jan Blachowicz on December 10th.
