Aaron Pico and Aiden Lee will meet in a featherweight clash at Bellator 260.
After an initial report by ESPN, Bellator officials confirmed the pairing is a go for Bellator 260. Additionally, the event will take place on June 11, inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
Originally, the two featherweights were to collide but Pico had to withdraw due to undisclosed medical reasons so the bout was postponed. Each fighter brings serious finishing potential, so it’s certainly a fight to circle on the calendar.
Following a 3-0 run in 2020, with all finishes, Pico is looking solid under the Bellator banner. Overall, the 24-year old showed off his wrestling prowess with a slick rear-naked choke against Solo Hatley Jr. in his recent string of victories. Prior to his blistering 2020 run, the young prospect had a little trouble, but mostly against elite competition back in 2019. In particular, Pico was finished back-to-back by Henry Corrales and then, Ádám Borics. Although, as of recently, his stand-up and wrestling have looked top tier.
Conversely, Lee started in Bellator with less steam but has slowly built himself into a potent finisher. In his last fight at Bellator Euro Series 8, Lee showed he is ready for a step up in competition. Following a dominant head-kick stoppage against Jeremy Petley, many believe this featherweight fight will steal the show.
