A fight between two in-form top-15 Featherweights Calvin Kattar (21-4) and Dan Ige (14-2) is set to headline the UFC ‘Fight Night’ on July 15 which will take place on ‘Fight Island’ in Abu Dhabi, according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto
Kattar is currently ranked number 6 in the Featherweight rankings and is coming off a devastating knockout win over veteran Jeremy Stephens at UFC 249.
In his seven UFC fights, ‘The Boston Finisher’ has already beaten the likes of Shane Burgos, Andre Fili, and Ricardo Lamas. Thus solidifying himself as a force to be reckoned with, and will look to push up the rankings with a victory against Ige.
Dan ‘50K’ Ige is on a six-fight win streak, since losing his UFC debut at UFC 220 in 2018. The Hawaiian won a controversial split decision against Edson Barbosa in May which was on paper, the biggest test of his career.
Ige will go up in level once again and take on one of the division’s most dangerous strikers in a five-rounder that promises to entertain. The July 15 card is the second of four events scheduled to take place on ‘Fight Island’ in Abu Dhabi.
The card is also set to include: Carla Esparza vs. Marina Rodriguez, Molly McCann vs. Taila Santos, Abdul Razak Alhassan vs. Mounir Lazzez, Aleksander Doskalchuk vs. Tagir Ulanbekov, and Modestas Bukauskas vs. Vinicius Moreira Castro.
